Retreat to PANAMA

January 12 - January 17

Panama is quickly becoming the place to retreat. Join us!

Iconic domes with unique architecture meet modern sustainable design and functionality.

Unforgettable sunsets turn into rejuvenating nights stargazing in our unique outdoor living room nets.

We will journey together from Panama City to Canas surrounded by 2 of the most famous tourist destinations in Panama: Isla Cañas & Playa Venao.

You will drive through the only paved road, enter into the town’s park, and be magically transported to Alaya.

The town has a magical charm to it with friendly people saying hi whenever you pass by, a river running alongside the whole town, dogs & chicken all around and silence in the evenings that is only interrupted by sounds of the jungle such as cicadas and howler monkeys.

Travel:

Book your Direct flight from NYC to Panama City (or wherever you might be traveling from.) Plan to arrive no later than the early morning of January 12th. We suggest you  plan to schedule it so you can spend the night on the 11th in Panama City to experience this amazing city and be ready to leave on the 12th for the Retreat center. That’s what we will be doing! Framed by the Pacific Ocean and the Panama Canal, explore a buzzing Central American metropolis full of culture and innovation.

Private bus Pick up to travel to  Alaya will be morning of January 12th at designated meeting point in Panama City. This will be for our group only. Scenic relaxing route is approx 5 hours.

Arrive early-mid afternoon just in time to get settled, have a swim, practice yoga/meditate and eat a deliciously prepared dinner before watching the sun set and the stars come out from your all windowed dome.

Schedule of retreat will be sent upon registration but expect time in community with enough time to explore and slow down that nervous system.

Retreat will conclude post practice/breakfast on the 17th. If you are flying back to your final destination that same day, plan to book an evening flight.

Annie Piper

Yoga found Annie 0ver 20 years ago at a gum in the West Village and it has been her faithful friend ever since. Anxious, untethered, and grasping, she discovered a place to drop anchor and study her mind, her heart, her body, and her breath and not totally freak out. She is grateful beyond language to bring this practice to others. Now, hertemple is virtually any room where people come together to practice stillness, to breathe, to move, to be brave, to open, and to witness. Annie is on the faculty at NYU Tisch School of Graduate Acting, NYU’s Gallatin School, and the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University. She teaches at The Shala Yoga House in Brooklyn, Kula Yoga, Prema Yoga, and Souk Yoga. She works with diverse communities across the NYC area with a focus on actor movement training and  trauma sensitive practice. Formerly an actor and director, Annie received an MFA in Acting from the University of Minnesota and a BA in Theater from Oberlin College.
